Chandler has Down syndrome and a patent foramen ovale – which is a small hole between the chambers of the heart. This is common in childhood, and often closes without any medical intervention.
These children are blessed to be in an excellent orphanage, however this region typically requires 3 trips. This is a great orphanage and the children receive excellent care, and there is minimal travel in-country. This orphanage is close to the Capital city, so it's fantastic for sight-seeing.
We have had many successful adoptions from this orphanage, and families are willing to share their experiences.
$1208.20 is available towards the cost of his adoption! Please share and find this little love a family!
Look at this child! He really needs a family! He is 2 years old and shouldn't spend any more time without a mommy and daddy. Please pray his parents are out there and see this. He does have a grant of $1,124. If you can't adopt please consider making at tax deductible donation. Click on the link: Robert
Boy, born December 2009
Robert is just up from his nap — and look how bright-eyed he is! He has a couple of little teeth peeking out on the bottom, too

The Chellsons are close to traveling. They are still not fully funded.
This is where you can help. If you would like to support either of these families then buy a bracelet for $5.
Go to either of their CHIP IN's and donate the $5. Then message me on facebook or at christinascott23@aol.com with your address so I can send you your bracelet(s).
I am eating the shipping costs. These families are so truly amazing people. I know its hard sometimes to help but maybe you could skip the starbucks and get a bracelet for Vinnie or Aaron.
Again donate on their blogs listed under the childrens' pictures. Thank you for reading. Thank you for helping. Most of all thank you for praying.
My friend Priscilla who is adopting Xenia (Natasha) found out some good news today. They are letting Natasha have her heart surgery here in the US. They are holding off until their family can go get her.
They are expediting everything because of her surgery. They may be able to travel in March bringing her home in May. They are $10,000 short. I have seen us move mountains. We have to save this child before its too late. Her family and friends are trying everything they can to raise money. They sold everything of value. They are selling bracelets. They are selling baked goods. They are having a raffle with Paula Deen goods. The are having basket raffles with some really cool stuff. I know I repost their giveaways and raffles often. I can't give them $10,000. I am asking you to help. Take a look at one of their fundraisers. There has to be something that interests you. Please help them to save a life.
Russell is a 2-year old boy with Down syndrome in an eastern European orphanage. He is available for adoption and we're praying that his Forever Family finds him soon... VERY soon. The truth is that there are LOTS of families that would love to adopt children, but the financial hardship makes it difficult. The higher Russell's adoption grant, the more likely he can find a family before he turns 3.
EVERY child deserves a family. Children in orphanages in his country with special needs who don't get adopted before age 4 are often sent to mental institutions. For life. Which isn't very long after transfer. There is no physical therapy, education, early intervention services, etc. If they... haven't learned to be mobile or speak, no one will teach them. No one wakes them up with a smile. No one tucks them in. No one worries if they spike a fever or helps them eat if they cannot do it themselves. No one loves them.
There are 163 million orphans in the world. That's really overwhelming to me. So, for today, on Teamwork Tuesday, we're only worrying about Russell.
If you would like to help, there are three ways.
1.) Consider for a moment... “Are you Russell's mom or dad?” If you might be, please look over the following list of qualifications to see if you meet them. And if you do, PLEASE visit his page and inquire about him!
- 3 trips to the country to complete the adoption
- Both parents for 2 weeks on the first trip
- Wait 2-3 months for court
- Both parents travel for 2nd trip
- 30 day wait period after court, one parent would return to pick Russell up.
- No family size restrictions
- Both parents must be younger than 60 years
- Total program fees under $25,000, plus travel expenses
- Married couples and single mothers may apply
- Canadians welcome!
2.) If you would like to make a direct (tax deductible) donation through Reece's Rainbow to Russell's fund, visit the following link that will allow you to donate with paypal to Russell. The higher his grant, the easier for a family to go get him! http://reecesrainbow.org/19670/russel-2
3.) Pray, pray, pray. Take a moment. This very moment. And pray for Russell. Pray that his orphanage is well equipped, pray that the caretakers there are the "good" kind... the kind that shower him with love and hugs as he waits, but most of all, please pray that TODAY, Russell's mom or dad sees this posting and rushes to go get him. Let's pray Russell into a family. Today.
Thanks to everyone who reads this! Join us in making a difference for Russell!
I was talking the mother in the process of adopting this sweet child today. The financial part of it is overwhelming. There are many adoptions going on. Many people fighting to bring their children home. They are selling things prized possessions to have money for their adoptions. No one child is any more or less deserving. And you who are reading this, probably have helped many families. But I am asking that we each give up one thing such as a $5 Starbucks and put it in Natasha (Xenia)'s fund. I am not offering a prize or selling anything. I just want this family to see that people do care. I want to share something from Priscilla's blog:
So today, my face lights up like a christmas tree when I see an email from the adoption agency with just my sweet girls name in the title. I open it, and I begin to read...and my 1000 watt smile starts to fade, and by the end of the email I'm sobbing. I won't go into detail, but I'll copy and paste the part that sums it all up:
The girl has a combined heart defect, muscular hypotension. The doctors give an unfavorable prognosis for her development. They are planning a cardiac operation. She is very passive, not responsive. Xenia is not recommended for adoption by her doctor.
Can you imagine seeing this? Did this scare this protective mama bear into changing her mind??? Did it make this mommy give up? No, it made this momma want to fight to prove her daughter will make it, and beat the odds. Many of us have seen the change in the children after leaving the orphanage. I have no doubt that Natasha will be any different. The important thing now is that this child get home quickly. She needs heart surgery and every day she waits the more her condition worsens. Natasha has a great need. I'm asking, if you are my friend, and are reading this please donate something to her fund. You can donate through the Reece's Rainbow button which is tax deductible or through their chip in which is not tax deductible. All I'm asking is you donate something. $5 or even $1. Every little bit helps. I have seen people come together and mountains moved. Can we do it today for this child? Please? Thank you and God Bless.
I need your help. I have been advocating for a certain little girl and a family has stepped forward. She wants to adopt her! Praise God. Unfortunately they want a lot of the stuff up front. I am not saying this child is any more important than the next child but this child is almost 7!!! It is important we act fast. I would love to share with you who this special child is.
I was blessed enough to get a Nook donated for a giveaway to help this family raise money for her initial costs. The goal is $3,000. Sound impossible. Yeah it does to me too. But I do know nothing is impossible with God. We have so many supporters of this little girl I have to believe we will find a way to bring her home ASAP. She has been in the intuition for years now. Help me to save her. I wish I could show you her picture. Her smile that lights up her face. So as of right now I am doing a simple giveaway. The prize is a Nook.

Can you imagine living 15 years without a family? No one to hug you, hold you, teach you? I cannot imagine the horror? Most of these kids just need a family. Meet Karen:
Doesn't you look absolutely innocent? She is close to aging out. What does that mean?? I'm not too sure. I do know that means she is not adoptable. How sad. This child has no special needs. She is healthy and smart. She also has a little sister. Her name is Chrystyna.
And here's another picture of her.
Karen and Christyna can be adopted together but most likely can be adopted separately as well. Is there someone out there who can give Karen and maybe Chrystyna a chance?
Otherwise this can happen when a child ages out 60% of girls turn to prostitution
70% of boys turn to crime
27% of these youths will find work
10% will commit suicide before their 18th
birthday
I'm asking you to just stop and think about it. Share with your friends and see if you can find Karen a family before all hope is lost for one completely.
Just recently I was apart of the best thing I have ever been a part of. The Reece's Rainbow Angel Tree. It was so incredible to be a part of getting all these children listed to their goal of $1, 000. I really did help, rally and give but most of all prayed. There were a good amount of children who moved to the MFFM page. Which means they have families commit to them.
Lucien, a baby boy who took my breath away was quickly committed to at the beginning of the Angel Tree. He didn't make it to his goal because he moved down the list to the MFFM page and people stopped fighting for him since he had a family. I was a little disappointed and kept trying to being the focus back to these kids. These kids have families coming now, yes, but the family is the most important thing! That doesn't mean they stop needing our help. On the other side, there are very few people who have enough money that don't need or (sometimes) want our help.
So I do understand people's hesitancy in not getting the kids to their goal since finding families. But for Lucien's family this is not the case. They had already committed to bringing another baby home, Sydney. They will be traveling around April. I wish we could have focused more on Lucien on the Angel Tree. This family is doing what I cannot...Adopting. This family has taken a total leap in faith and is really trusting in God to help them.
There were about five or so of us AT tree warriors who tried to help the under $1,000 children on the MFFM page but it wasn't enough. (Even though every dollar counts and we did have a little movement, most likely between the 5 of us). I felt a little bit of failure and was a little peeved at myself for not working harder. I put kids faces out there and helped them to goal but it seemed impossible for our sweet thumb sucker, Lucien.
Now this isn't a woe is me post. I just felt we lost the focus of the Angel Tree is. And how would I know since this is my first year. I was feeling this way when I read this message from Lucien's mommy:
When we committed to Sydney and Lucien they did not have any grant money, no angel tree money, no warrior money. However, we did receive a blessing that before we had become "official" in our commitment, he did get a little bit of angel tree money. And people can still donate to him, even though he is not able to get any of the angel tree benefits such as matching donors. The whole purpose of the angel tree is to help children FIND their families and since we have found him, that extra help is gone. Some children have been listed a long time, they need the extra boost to help encourage a family to reach out and open their hearts to a child. It is very scary stepping out in faith, and wondering if you will be able to raise the money in time. When stepped out knowing that we would have to put all our trust in God for this one. $30,000 is NOT easy to raise. We have raised (counting our promise trust money) $5000. We still need to raise $25,000. We have until around April to get this. We hope to encourage other families and be an inspiration to families who see children who have little or no grant money or warrior/angel tree money. We want these families to know that they can step out in faith and others will be willing to step up and help them. YES, it is scary! This is the scariest thing I have ever done. Each day I have to force myself to NOT compare our fsp to others. I have to tell myself to NOT get discouraged. I have to tell myself that God works on HIS time NOT mine. And I have to believe that we WILL be ok, we WILL be able to make it to Sydney and Lucien, and we WILL be holding our babies and bringing them back home in April.
One of the hardest things for me is that I feel like I am having to step out of my comfort zone. I am normally a somewhat quiet person who just really loves to spend time with my family. I would rather sit down and play scrabble or sorry sliders with my family than go out shopping. I find myself putting myself out there now, trying to tell everyone about the wonderful work that Reece's Rainbow is doing and how children with special needs ARE worth it. They are so very worth it. I want others to find their special little love too. I want to see other families bring their little ones home. I have to give everything to God, put it all in his hands, because this is one of those times when there is only ONE set of footprints in the sand. God is carrying me today, I am leaning on him. And I know, he will see us through.
I am so blessed to have him to lean on, and I know that it will all work out, I am certainly having to learn patience and taking an extra helping of faith. Please keep us in your prayers. Please pray that we will be able to get our little ones home and in doing so, we will inspire others to set out in faith as well, and be willing to commit to children who have little to no funds to start with. Let's show that it CAN be done!
Please pray!
Colton to his AT goal with help of my new friends, my facebook family, my fellow warriors. I know with other's help we can save these children and bring them home quickly.
So my bitterness is gone and I admit we didn't get Lucien to his Angel Tree Goal but we can build up this family's grant for both Lucien and Sydney. Please take a look here for how you can help.
